Along a quiet corner of Down East Maine, visited infrequently by the rush of buses filled with tourists, Lubec is perched at the Eastern most area of the United States.

Filled with stories, much to my delight and surprise, I learned about rum runners to and from neighboring Campobello Island, New Brunswick. Ghostly apparitions in the nearby Black Woods Road area and how many of locals left today, in a population of under 1,500 residents, are considered "Away" people and not locals. Few remain.

But, this lovely Maine fishing village is filled with warm hearts and beautiful scenery.
